If not us, who? If not now, when? The Greater Milwaukee Catholic Education Consortium is asking—and answering—those familiar questions, proactively working with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee not only to preserve but to promote Catholic school education and its traditions of excellence and inclusiveness.

In 2007, leaders from the five Catholic colleges and universities in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee determined that change would be more systemic if they collaborated together to support their Catholic K-12 schools. After a series of meetings, these institutions articulated a responsibility to better support its Catholic schools. With a generous seed donation from the Stollenwerk Family Foundation and the formation of a board in 2008, the GMCEC was launched in an official capacity. In 2009 an institutional coordinator was hired. The GMCEC’s work continues to evolve with the needs of our Catholic schools.
